This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file, Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted.

If you have an encrypted / password protected PDF document which you can only print to physical printers then you cannot create a simple PDF file out of the it using Adobe Distiller or any other PDF printers softwares. you can not do anything with the file using Acrobat unless you can change the security. If you could, then the security would be worthless.

From User:

I have a postscript file which has been created from secure or encrypted (opening restriction) pdf.
Now when i use distiller to convert this postscript file to pdf then distiller cannot produce a pdf file.
The log file contains following text:
This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file.
Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted.
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

1) Is there a way to convert this postscript file into pdf ? I have a limitation that i cannot remove security from secure pdf.
2) Do distiller provide any settings which can be changed to convert this kind of ps(from secure pdf) to pdf.
3) Can we provide password to distiller during process of conversion to pdf.
4) If above methods do not work then is there a way we can programatically use Distiller Api's for conversion of postscript (in case of postscript created from secure pdf) to pdf.
Like methods 'Prin to PDF' etc.

How to create PDF File out of encrypted or secured PDF document?

Knowledge: If you have an encrypted / password protected PDF document which you can only print to physical printers then you cannot create a simple PDF file out of the it using Adobe Distiller or any other PDF printers softwares.
You can not do anything with the file using Acrobat unless you can change the security. If you could, then the security would be worthless.

There are two types of PDF password: user password and owner password.
A user password means that you can not open the PDF file before typing on the right password.
An owner password protects the PDF file from being copied or printed.
The right way you need to do is to remove the restrications.

Solution: If you need to print a PDF with a password, you can complete this task by printing it as an image
The following is an explanatory step:
1. Open a PDF file using Adobe Acrobat and click on Print.

2. Click on the "Advanced" option to enter the advanced options window, check "Print as Image"

3. Return to the printing window, select the printer parameters you need, and finally click "Print" to complete printing.

4. This result will generate a perfect PDF file, and some text inside can be copied!

This process is fast, and you can print PDF files using Adobe Acrobat or other PDF readers.
